Abstract

Environmental perception and public participation is very important for managing any kind of natural assets. Perception of people regarding environment may vary based on people's needs, values, expectations from nature and social circumstances. So now, policymakers need to understand people's perception and behaviour towards the environment for a successful environmental planning. This research paper aims to highlight how the people perceive quality of river water and their behaviour towards Jalangi River. Data and information regarding people's perception were collected from a structured questionnaire survey on the people residing along the Jalangi River.The findings from the respondents were mostly based on sensorial overview of the people.
