In present one of the most common issue which is been faced by the employees is job stress. The stress can be caused due to personal and professional factors. The job stress may be mainly caused due to no satisfaction in environment, no good relationship with co-workers, compensation, and other non-monetary factors. Faculty turnover intention may be influenced by job stress and job satisfaction. Educator turnover is a significant problem. A study was conducted to investigate whether demographic characteristics are related to turnover intentions. As part of the study, demographic factors such as gender, age, marital status, income, type of employment, experience, and type of college are considered. Faculty data has been collected from various institutions in Karnataka. There are mixed results from the analysis. There was no statistically significant correlation between turnover intention and gender, marital status, type of college, and experience. The age of faculty members and their employment type, however, shows a significant relationship with turnover intention. The study revealed that the faculty members of temporary in job nature had more propensity to leave their current job when compared to the faculty members of permanent. |
