This study was carried out during year 2014 to 2015 on water of Fatehsagar and Udaisagar Lake for Copper and Iron (heavy metals) content. The samples were collected seasonally using standard methods and examined with proper procedures. Result obtained suggest that there is input of high loads of domestic sewage into lakes as there is large population living around the lakes. The seasonal fluctuation and average data obtained clearly indicates that anthropogenic activities around lake is the main reason behind such levels of Copper and Iron concentrations. Average Copper concentration for Fatehsagar and Udaisagar lake water for year 2014 was 30.74 ppm and 38.66 ppm, whereas for year 2015 it was 79.80 ppm and 57.63 ppm respectively. Average Iron concentration for lake Fatehsagar was 374.74 ppm for year 2014 and 310.97 ppm for year 2015. Whereas average Iron concentration for lake Udaisagar was 1799.84 ppm and 1463.76 ppm for year 2014 and 2015 respectively. The average concentration of Copper and Iron during study period for water of lake Fatehsagar was 45.27ppm and 342.86 ppm respectively whereas for water of lake Udaisagar it was 48.15ppm and 1631.80 ppm respectively. |
