Abstract

Indian society is severely impacted by gender inequality. Female feticides, a form of discrimination against women, are found even before they are born, and female infanticide has been observed in practise after they are born. Treatment differences based on gender are present from an early age. It is thought that girls are a liability. In Indian society, the patriarchal structure is the primary contributor to gender inequality. Despite efforts to advance social legislation, gender inequality still exists. For the positive effects of gender equality, educated people should develop women's advancement strategies, solutions, and improvements. There is a need to alter how people view women. Only with equal treatment of women and protection of their rights would human society be at its most advantageous. The paper as a whole emphasises the multifaceted context of gender inequality among women in India.
