| Abstract | ||
An ethnic group of Santals are native to eastern India. The livelihood of Santhals revolve around the forests in which basically they reside. Santhals are the domonant tribe in the Indian state of Jharkhand in terms of population and are also found in the states of Assam, Bihar, Tripura, Odisha and West Bengal. They are the largest ethnic minority in northern Bangladesh’s Rajshahi Division as well as in Rangpur Division. They have a overriding population in Nepal and Bhutan. The Santals communicates with the Santal language, the third largest language of the Austroasiatic family. |
