All water reservoirs, like lakes, rivers, ponds and groundwater, have been contaminated due to pollutants. The quality of natural resources is determined by a number of factors, including climate, soil, precipitation, geology, vegetation, groundwater, and human activities. Urbanization, industrialization, mining, and agricultural practices also affect water quality. Water quality is also influenced by point and non-point pollution sources. A variety of chemicals, pesticides, and organic compounds are responsible for surface and ground water pollution. Various types of infectious diseases such as cholera, typhoid, parathyroid, dysentery, jaundice and amoebiasis spread due to the utilization of contaminated water. Other health-related problems such as skin disease, kidney disease, teeth and bone related problems also appeared due to the utilization of polluted water. |
