Overview of Information Technology sector in India with special emphasis on Gujarat state

This review paper aims at giving an overview of information technology sector in India, with particular attention paid to Gujarat state. In India over the past few years the Information technology sector has been growing in leaps and bounds. The present study identifies that emergence of strong Indian IT industry happened due to continues government efforts. In this study we further look at the status quo of the IT sector in Gujarat. The study will also look into the impact of GST on Indian IT Sector. The questions like, Why India is considered first when it comes to outsourcing IT projects and Governments input in development of IT sector are answered in this paper. This paper also throws light on effect of United States (US) strong move against immigration on Indian IT sector. It is also reviewed that though at this point of time IT sector is going down but business of IT sector is not endangered. There is lot of growth in product development and towards the end of 2018, the scenario might change. The sector has seen large number of layoffs in recent past due to unstable growth but again retaining good employees is big challenge faced by information technology sector.
